4 weeks old

Danica has been very busy growing.  We measured her Sunday and she is 22.5 inches long and she is finally starting to look like me.  Ok so it's only her double chin, but it's something.  She is starting to outgrow some of her newborn clothes and starting to wear a few of her 0-3 month outfits. 

Every time Keith takes her anywhere all he hears is how beautiful she is and how much she looks like him (that must mean everyone thinks he's good looking).  My humble husband - not.  She started cooing yesterday and was really "talking" a lot to Daddy today.  According to Daddy she really likes sitting on the front porch with him and looking up at the leaves on the tree or going for a ride in the car - anywhere.  Keith dressed her in a pink/white jumper and pink/white ballet socks (he thought she looked really cute in them).  It's really funny to hear him say stuff like that, usually he so manly, but not when it comes to his daughter.  Keith: "don't you think she gets more beautiful everyday"  Gwen "I don't know", Keith: "well I do and I tell her".  Great she'll be humble just like her dad.

They went to CVS and to the doctor's office today to pick up some paperwork for the adoption and then stopped by Mommy's work to drop off the paperwork and had a perfectly lovely time. 

I spoke with the social worker today and she has received all of our paperwork and will let us know if she needs anything else (other than more money again).  And of course we got a bill from our attorney today... but we would pay it all over again she is soooo worth all the paperwork, worry and money.  I'm not sure if the social worker will make another visit or not or just write up her recommendation.  Once we have her paperwork we will need to get it to our attorney and then he will get us a court date.  The court will be the last and final step in our adoption. 

She is definitely going through a grow spurt this week, this afternoon she took three 4oz bottles in 3 hours.  So, if she follows her trend tomorrow she will sleep almost all day.  She slept last night from 11p-5am, which I think Keith really enjoyed.  He is still getting up during the night most of the time and really seems to enjoy it and anytime he gets to spend with her.  Monday he worked on the side porch and had the babysitters bring her outside so she could see what he was doing.  He is a very good Dad and seems to love every minute of it (except the blow outs - which seem to only happen to him and Katie). 

Danica goes for her 1 month checkup Friday, so will get an official new height and weight (no shots this visit yeah).  Saturday we have a busy day with a baby shower for a cousin in the morning and a wedding in LaPorte in the afternoon.   Mamaw is going to babysit for the first time and she is very excited.  She will likely just hold and rock her the whole time, but Mamaw's can do that.  I'll try and upload some recent pictures this weekend so you see how much she is growing.
